What is Rescue Reads?

We are a second-hand bookshop that raises money for animal rescue. Every book you purchase helps support animals in need.

Where are you located?

Our physical store is located at 2862 Albany Highway, Kelmscott, WA. Our online store ships Australia wide.

How much do you donate to the animal rescues?

We donate 20% of ALL sales.

​

How do you pick which rescues to donate to?

A different rescue listed on our Donate page is selected each month. Once all rescues have each had a month, the process will begin again.

I am part of an animal rescue not listed on your Donate page. Can we be added?

Of course! Get in contact with us and we will add you to our donations list, if your rescue ticks all the boxes.

How do I place an online?

For an online order simply browse or search our online store, add books to your cart, and check out using our secure payment system. Or visit us in store at Kelmscott for physical sales.

Where do you ship to?

We currently are only shipping within Australia. If you are outside Australia and interested in a certain book, please contact us to see if we can arrange something.

How much is shipping?

We have recently had to change our shipping rates due to the rising costs of postal services. Our shipping is now based on weight:

0-5kg = $12

5-10kg=$20

10-15kg=$30

15kg+=$35

How long does it take to put an order through and for me to receive it?

We are only a small, family run company, so orders are typically processed within 3 business days. How quickly you receive your order depends on the postal service's delivery times.

What condition are the books in?

Our books range from "like new" to very well-loved. Each listing includes details about the condition, so you know what to expect.

Do you accept returns?

Due to the nature of second-hand books, we generally do not accept returns. However, if you receive the wrong book or a book is significantly different to the condition it was listed as, please contact us within 1 week of receiving the book.

Can I donate books to Rescue Reads?

Absolutely! Our store is located in Kelmscott if you are able to drop off. Otherwise, let us know and we may be able to arrange pick-up from you.

What kind of books do you accept?

We accept most fiction and non-fiction books. Contact us to find out if your books will be suitable donations for us.
