Big Time by Marcel Montecino follows Sal D’Amore, a New Orleans pianist, singer and compulsive gambler who finds himself in serious trouble after losing a huge amount of money belonging to the Mafia on a fixed horse race. Forced to flee for his life, Sal travels across the Americas and beyond while being relentlessly pursued by the criminals determined to collect the debt. Along the way, he becomes involved with a young singer and gets an unexpected chance at the music career he once dreamed of, but the Mafia remains close behind. The novel combines crime, dark humour, gambling, romance and a fast-paced chase across several countries.
