Thirty years ago, twenty-year-old Howard Stamp was convicted of murdering his grandmother on disputed evidence and a confession he later withdrew. He died in prison a few years later, and the case was largely forgotten. But when anthropologist Jonathan Hughes comes across the story while researching miscarriages of justice, inconsistencies in the evidence convince him that Howard may have been innocent.
As Jonathan begins re-examining the decades-old crime, he is forced to confront uncomfortable questions about prejudice, guilt and the way society judges those who don't fit its expectations. And if Howard wasn't responsible for the murder, the real killer was never brought to justice. Disordered Minds combines a cold-case investigation with psychological suspense and a dark exploration of social exclusion and human behaviour.
