The Kingsbridge Series by Ken Follett is an epic historical fiction saga spanning more than a thousand years of English history, with each novel returning to the fictional town of Kingsbridge and following new generations of characters. Beginning with The Evening and the Morning, set in the late 10th century, the series continues through The Pillars of the Earth and the following novels, exploring the lives of ordinary people during periods of war, plague, religious conflict, political upheaval and social change. Across the series, Follett combines family drama, romance, ambition, betrayal and the struggle for power against the sweeping events that shape England’s history.
