Bella Forrest’s The Gender Game series is set in a dystopian world divided by a toxic river. On one side lies Matrus, a society ruled by women; on the other, Patrus, where men hold the power. Nineteen-year-old Violet Bates has never been good at following the strict rules of her homeland, and after being sentenced to death, she is offered one chance to save herself: cross into Patrus on a dangerous secret mission.

What begins as a mission for survival draws Violet into a much larger struggle involving the two rival societies, their hidden histories and the dangerous wilderness beyond their borders. Along the way she faces shifting loyalties, political intrigue, romance and increasingly difficult questions about the beliefs she has been raised with. Fast-paced and action-heavy, the series blends dystopian adventure with mystery, espionage and romance as Violet fights to uncover the truth about her divided world.
