Set amid the rugged coastline and close-knit communities of North Devon, the series follows Detective Inspector Matthew Venn and his team as they investigate a succession of complex murders. Each case draws them into communities filled with secrets, complicated relationships, and long-held grudges, while Venn must also confront connections to the strict religious world he left behind. Atmospheric and character-driven, the series blends compelling murder mysteries with themes of family, belonging, loyalty, and the hidden tensions beneath seemingly peaceful communities.
