Women of Other Worlds: Excursions Through Science Fiction and Feminism is an anthology exploring the relationship between science fiction and feminist ideas, bringing together fiction, essays, poetry and interviews from a wide range of writers. The collection examines how women have contributed to science fiction and challenged the genre’s traditionally male-dominated perspective, while exploring themes including gender, identity, sexuality, power, technology and alternative visions of society. Featuring both established and emerging writers, including Ursula K. Le Guin, the book considers how science fiction can question conventional ideas about women and imagine more diverse and fluid possibilities for the future. It also looks at the often-overlooked history of women as science-fiction writers, readers and fans.
